Wage earners who worked in 2009 and earned less than $49,000 may qualify for Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). IRS certified tax sites will help prepare tax returns for low income families free of charge.
Residents of Black Hawk, Iowa, Linn and Jones counties can call 2-1-1 to schedule tax appointments. Just dial 2-1-1 or toll-free 1-866-469-2211. From a cell phone, dial (319) 739-4211. Persons living in other counties can call to find tax preparation sites in their area.
