Kelly is a young mother of 4 year-old, Sam. Kelly has cerebral palsy which has resulted in having limited use of one side of her body. She has worked very hard at keeping her son safe and wants the best for him.
A parent educator for YPN’s “Parents as Teachers” program started seeing Kelly while she was pregnant to help assure her son had the best possible start in life.
With the parent educator’s help, Kelly has her son well prepared to enter pre-school in the fall and is very excited about a milestone that is so important in his life.
“My parent educator helps make me feel reassured about what I’m doing as a parent,” says Kelly. “She will call and do checkups to see how I’m doing and she has helped me with providing good activities to engage and stimulate Sam. I would be lost without YPN’s support.”
