Outstanding Volunteer Awards Nominations
January 26, 2017 | United Way Team

Our annual Outstanding Volunteer Awards event showcases local individuals, companies, and groups who make a difference through volunteerism. We recognize volunteers in five categories of Youth, Adult, Senior, Business, and Group.

And you get to nominate and vote for the winners!

Volunteers work to build a better community, and this is a great chance to thank them for all they do. If you know a volunteer who goes above and beyond for a cause they believe in, then all you have to do is fill out a short form to complete the nomination. Tell us how your volunteer has improved your program/organization, helped people in need, or impacted fellow volunteers.

At the age of eight, Jacqueline started volunteering with Young Parents Network (YPN) with her grandmother. She has helped communicate with Spanish-speaking families, perform and sell raffle tickets for their annual fundraiser, and volunteer at LADD Library. She even helped make YPN’s Lunch and Literacy program a success by reading to children in Spanish for seven weeks. Jacqueline is a great asset to the organization and bridges the gap for bilingual families.

Remember: If you submitted a nomination last year and the volunteer did not become a finalist, you can still nominate them again this year!

After nominations close, our Quarton Leadership Society Committee, a group of volunteers themselves, will select three finalists in each category. Then, we’ll put these 15 volunteers on our website for you to vote. The volunteer with the most votes in each category wins $500 to donate to a nonprofit of their choice.

We’re accepting nominations now through February 22, so be sure to nominate a volunteer today! And come see the winners at our Outstanding Volunteer Awards event on Thursday, April 20 (registration coming soon)!
