VITA is excited to start up again and support you in getting your taxes filed!

Appointments for the 2020 tax filing season with VITA will begin on [insert date here] and are available on a first come, first serve basis. Please review the checklist for the items that you will need to bring to your appointment.

What should I bring to my tax return?

How do I schedule an appointment?

Click here to find an appointment time that works for you! We will be doing approximately 15-minute intake appointments where you leave your tax information and pick it up once it is complete.

How do I know when my taxes are done?

We will call you when your taxes are done. Your taxes won’t be filed until you pick them up, we review them with you, and get a signature.

The caller will work with you to figure out a time to come in so that we space out people coming in for appointments and people picking up their taxes.

IF YOU ARE A VOLUNTEER

VITA is grateful for your volunteered time and talent!

If you are interested in volunteering for VITA, follow the attached instructions and we will get back you you as soon as possible. There are multiple areas you can volunteer for: Intake Specialist, Greeter, and Tax Preparer.
NOTE that these positions require training, but it is free and UWECI will provide all necessary materials.

Do I need to work in accounting to volunteer?

No! Since we train all volunteers ourselves, being an accountant (or other banking-relating job) isn’t necessary.

Will there be measures to ensure my health/safety?

Absolutely. We intend on ensuring that all volunteers and clients are able to attend their appointments with peace of mind. Including hand sanitation stations, glass dividers, and frequent sanitation of surfaces as well as a limited number of individuals allowed in a single room at a time.

Basic Safety Protocols

We are strongly encouraging you to wear a mask as we want to keep you and our volunteers safe. Volunteers will be required to wear a mask during their volunteer shifts. If you experience any of the following symptoms DO NOT come to your appointment:

– Fever                 – Cough                  -Shortness of breath                 -Chills                 -Muscle pain

-Headache                 -Sore throat                 -New loss of taste or smell

If you receive notice that you have been exposed to COVID-19 through contact tracing, you must notify VITA immediately so notice can be provided to other volunteers and clients who may have been exposed. Call 319-538-4217.
