2025 – 2027 Women United Chair
“Women United gave me the understanding to appreciate healthcare coverage but also see that not everyone is able to access healthcare. Not having access can cause rippling effects to an individual and their family.”
We support local individuals and families by ensuring they have access to nutritious food and healthcare.
Women United supporters are an inspiring group that unites the caring power of women to ensure that all women in our community have access not only to medical care but also to supportive services, fostering healthier communities in Eastern Iowa.
The Transportation Program is for Jones County residents 55+ who have non-emergency medical appointments outside of the county.
The Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) provides free-of-charge counseling and information to people with questions about Medicare, Medicare supplement insurance, long-term care insurance, and claim filing.
Creating lasting chance takes more than one organization. UWECI works alongside local partners to identify our community’s greatest needs, brings the right people and partners together, and invest in solutions that help every person and every community thrive

Give your time and become a Transportation Program or SHIIP volunteer. Support seniors in Benton and Jones counties by providing transportation to non-emergent medical appoints. Learn about these programs at uweci.org/volunteer

Your gift can support Women United, one of UWECI’s Impact Networks who designate their donation of $500 or more to advance women’s access to healthcare in our community. Donate at uweci.org/donate.

Keep yourself informed about the health challenges facing our community and advocate for solutions that improve access to care and well-being for all.
