Benton County Volunteer Center

Make a Difference in Benton County

The Benton County Volunteer Center (BCVC) mobilizes individual and company volunteers to meet the critical needs of our community.  Volunteers in Benton County help with a variety of programs such as:

  • Elderly Outreach Assisted Transportation Program:
The Benton County Volunteer Center works with volunteers to provide individuals with non-emergency transportation to medical appointments. The service is free but donations are much appreciated. The program is funded through grants from Benton County Community Foundation, Heritage Agency on Aging, Benton County Board of Supervisors and many other businesses and individuals.  The transportation volunteers drive their vehicles and are reimbursed for mileage only. Call 319-434-6078 if you would like to volunteer or need a ride to a medical appointment.
  • Volunteer Reception Center:
The Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) serves as a point of mobilization, registration and referral for spontaneous, unaffiliated volunteers who emerge in response to a disaster.
  • Project Groups:
The BCVC Project Group meets the immediate needs of the community, families and children. Projects of the group include comfort pillows for heart and cancer patients, food and gift distribution for holidays, quilts, hats, mittens for those in need, and school take home packets and reward coupons.
  • 55+:
The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) connects volunteers age 55 and better with volunteer opportunities to maximize community benefit.
