Effective change requires everyone’s help to increase awareness.
With an extensive network of donors, volunteers, and community leaders, United Way brings together the passion, expertise, and resources needed to affect positive change in our community. Together, person by person, United Way builds a more solid community and connects impassioned advocates who truly LIVE UNITED.
Government plays a significant role in health and human services development and delivery. In order to affect a social issue, we need to address the root of the problem and change policies. A committee of United Way of East Central Iowa volunteers and staff develop a public policy/legislative agenda to provide guidance on a variety of local, state, and federal policy issues to further our work in the areas of education, financial stability, and health. United Way of East Central Iowa maintains a collaborative public policy agenda through United Ways of Iowa, as well as tracks trends and concerns in our service area for local legislators.
We all have a stake in creating a healthy, prosperous region. Together, we can accomplish more than any single group can on its own.
