Questions to ask yourself before you volunteer:

Why are you are interested in volunteering, and what do you hope to gain from volunteering?

Knowing what motivates you as a volunteer will help us match you to the right opportunity. Are you looking to meet new people, lead a project, share your skills, learn new skills, or deepen relationships by volunteering side by side with family or friends?

Are you interested in a one-time, date-specific opportunity, short-term (two weeks to several months) projects, or an ongoing weekly/monthly opportunity?

Your availability will help narrow down the available opportunities.

What are you passionate about?

Selecting a cause that you care about will help you become a satisfied volunteer. For example, you can join us in changing the life of a child by reading, tutoring, or mentoring; helping families build financial stability by preparing taxes through the VITA program or serving meals to kids during the summer; or helping someone achieve maximum independence and better health by transporting clients to medical appointments, serving or delivering meals to elderly frail seniors.
