We are seeking volunteers who want to make an impact in our community by being a friendly face or preparing tax returns for fellow community members. One volunteer working one shift over the 10-week season brings about $50,000 back into our community through tax refunds.
United Way of East Central Iowa’s VITA program is dedicated to providing free, quality tax preparation services to income eligible individuals and families in East Central Iowa. By becoming a VITA volunteer, you will have a direct impact on the financial stability of thousands of households in your community.
Prepare basic tax returns
Welcome and prepare clients for appointments
Meet with clients to review tax information
No experience needed
IRS tax training will be provided in December and January
