2017 Outstanding Volunteer Awards Recap
April 21, 2017 | United Way Team

Guest speaker and former EMT, Linda Maitland

Our annual Outstanding Volunteer Awards event helps celebrate National Volunteer month and recognize volunteers — real life superheroes in our community. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible including our sponsor Rockwell Collins, our United Way staff and volunteers, and all of our nonprofit partners.

Our William B. Quarton Society and Young Leaders Society help select 15 finalists for these awards every year and then announce winners at the event. This year’s winners each received an award and $500 to donate to a nonprofit of their choosing.

Our challenge to you: ask a friend, family member, or coworker to be your superhero sidekick in your volunteerism during the next year. Simply have them create a profile on Volunteer Now so they can track their volunteer hours and get connected to local opportunities.
